Standard 1: Integrated Curriculum / Projects
9th grade: Genetics Project (3rd 9 weeks) and Body Systems Project (4th 9 weeks)
10th grade: Lab Safety (1 week) and Conversions/Symbols/Medical Abbreviations Unit (5 weeks)
11th grade: Argumentative/Pro-Con Debate (persuasive speech and essay) on Healthcare Topic (one 9 week)
12th grade: Informative Essay (research and essay for details on diseases) (one 9 week)

Curriculum In Action:
Gold Academy Tour-saw CPR in action with 9th grade academy students! This included district staff, the business community, industry folks, etc. This was a true "in action" snap shot of what the kids do in our classes (real-world and unpredictable)!

River Springs Middle School (Orange City)-Student Teaching in PE classes
Deltona Lakes Elementary (Deltona)-Heart Health booth for Jump Rope for Heart
Galaxy Middle School (Deltona)-Student Teaching on various health topics

DHS Showcase/Future Freshman-tentatively scheduled for April/May 2016

One Blood Mentoring with the HOSA Officer Team (13 students 10th-12th grade) working directly with Michelle Pagan.
