Standard 1: Integrated Curriculum
Practice.jpgUpper level academy students prepared their "Community Awareness" presentation and presented their lesson to our 9th grade academy students. The junior level students had to prepare the entire less/unit and provide activities for the 9th graders to keep them focused and motivated; an integrated unit within academy courses which kept on track with the current curriculum map/track.

Standard 2: Career Focus
DHS_Fire_6.JPGStudents not only volunteerd at the City of Deltona "Safety Day"; they also were educated by a community volunteer about the career of a Paramedic/EMT and the various materials and supplies necessary for the career.

DHS_Everest_3.JPGA college visit to Everest University with Juniors and Seniors; Everest University is a National Sponsor of HOSA and has really assisted in providing judges, guest speakers, and even funding to make the connection possible between the academy and the university.
DHS_Fire_4.JPGAcademy students had the opportunity to assist with the City of Deltona"Safety Day" where they helped serve the community by assessing blood pressure, demonstrating CPR, and educating the public about their course curriculum.

Standard 10: Workbased Learning
